Gesture uses a quick, energetic approach to drawing and many lines to achieve a basic description of the Subject. Participants will explore several different gestural techniques.
Tonal drawing introduces participants to various shading techniques in order to begin to build a volumetric, 3-D effect. This may used in conjunction with Contour or Gesture drawing.
January 2019
Tuesday Jan 15 10 – 12.30 Workshops 7 and 8 Thursday Jan 31 “
Erasure drawing:
Erasure drawing increases energy and spatial depth in a drawing by applying layers of media, which are intentionally erased and reapplied. A second technique using erasure uses a subtractive approach with tone.
These workshops will combine many of the techniques and media used in the previous workshops, but may also be taken on their own. Collage elements and gesso will be introduced to extend creative, expressive possibilities.
